Mühlberger Honey
In 2011, Peter Seifarth, a native of Mühlberg, took over the idyllic orchard meadow not far from Mühlburg – a legacy from his grandfather that left him not only with fruit-bearing trees, but also a deep connection to nature. With patience and dedication, he tended to the old fruit trees and expanded his knowledge in tree pruning courses.
When he began to take a closer interest in organic farming in 2017, his path almost inevitably led him to beekeeping – a world full of buzzing bees, blossoms and golden treasures. He gained his first practical experience with a beekeeper friend before completing a beginner's course at the German Bee Museum in Weimar in 2019, which enabled him to share his honey with others.
This ancient earth, shaped by wind and water, is now teeming with life once again. Year after year, Peter Seifarth harvests two varieties of his precious ‘Mühlberger Burghonig’ honey, which is sold in the Mühlberg cultural barn and at the entrance to Mühlburg – a piece of fragrant, golden homeland, shaped by blossoms, the industriousness of bees and the deep connection between humans and nature with the land that sustains them.
